Go For It: Your Adventure Awaits
There is a little voice inside us, a tiny cheerleader or a nervous naysayer. When opportunity knocks, that voice screams, "Go for it!" or whispers, "Are you sure?" I know which one I want to listen to more often.
For years, I let that little naysayer be the boss. "What if I fail?" it would hiss. "What if people laugh?" it would taunt. So, I played it safe. I stuck to the familiar, the comfortable. And while there was a certain peace in predictability, there was also a nagging sense of... what if?
What if I had said yes to that job in another city? What if I had taken that dance class? What if I had taken that course? The possibilities were endless, yet I was too scared to explore them.
Then one day, something clicked. I realized I was spending more time regretting the chances I did not take than the ones that did not work out. It was like waking up from a long sleepwalk.
So, I decided to take a leap of faith. It was terrifying, exhilarating, and everything in between. There were days when doubt crept in, but I reminded myself why I was doing it.
I have learned that "go for it" is not about being fearless. It is about recognizing your fear and doing it anyway. It is about taking calculated risks and learning from your mistakes. It is about believing in yourself, even when no one else does.
So, to the person reading this who is on the fence about something, I say: go for it! Whatever it is – starting a business, learning a new skill, pursuing a dream – take that first step. You might surprise yourself.
My book, If She Can So Can You, sheds light on this.
Remember, the biggest adventure you will ever take is the journey to discover yourself.
